If you haven't checked your Dec. printed bill, an insert announces some Free HD content coming in Jan.

And the rates are increasing... Ha!

Looks like they're following TW, in that ESPN, NFL, and maybe some others will be available on their respective HD channel. . Details are kinda sketchy, as I, for one, don't kep up with such stuff.

You gotta go down, or have them roll a truck for a HD receiver. I did it yesterday. Charges for a truck, and, of course, free for pickup. *No additional charge for the HD receiver.

* If you do this, and get a "Scientific Atlanta" "Explorer 4250 HDC" box, there are configurations, not documented on Grandecom.com., where you can get everything upscaled to 1080i, if you need it. PM me for a link to a Cisco URL... Cisco has taken over Scient. Atlanta.

Finally, one tech agent said this will be provisioned on Fri. Another agent said it is 01/12, so who knows.

I don't follow you. Grande already has NFL Network in HD, that is not new. Are you stating they are creating a new channel with the content being channels they already have? ESPN is also in the HD tier.

I did not have to change my box when I got my HDTV. I just need an HDMI cable. My DVR even records Hi-Def programs so I guess I was lucky to already have the box even though they did not charge me for having a DVD recorder this whole time.

ah, gotcha.

The NFL network is available at the normal price with no extra. Of course, the HD channels cost more but we as Grande subscribers don't have to pay for NFL Network unless you get the HD package. I don't have an issue with that as we are not getting charged twice for it. I would say that TWC customers are getting double charged but they are not because they don't have the NFL Network at all.
