PS3 hard drive stopped working

Turned on my PS3 which I have watched a total of 5-8 moves on since I bought it in August and I got an error that the hard drive needed to be reformatted.

I went through the menu to do so and it won't move off of 0% complete. Any thoughts?

It might still be under warranty. I would start out by calling Sony tech support.

It takes quite awhile to reformat. But if you have unplugged it and tried all that it and still doesn't reformat send it back. Sony increased the warrant to 3 years. We had to send one of ours back after it was about a year and half old. They just swapped it out with another one.
