PS3: 80gb vs 40gb? HELP

other than 40 more gb's, what are the advantages to the 80 to the 40? I heard the 80 has backward compatibility but other than that, I don't know the pros to getting an 80. any suggestions? I don't plan on doing alot of role playing games, mostly sports, so doubt I need 80gb.

The backwards compatibility is the only significant difference that I have heard of (unless you are going to be doing some networking and stuff and then it's beyond my scope). If you have PS2 games that you might still like to play, it's probably worth the extra $100.

here were the differences I didn't get:

1) 80gb has 4 usb ports, 40 has 2. One, why do I need my playstation to have a usb port and why is 4 better than 2? do the wireless controllers use the usb slot?

2) 80gb has flash card readers? do i need that **** on a ps3?

3) 80gb has SACD support; what the hell is that?

You can use 4 usb ports for games like rockband (connect 4 diff. instruments at once) Also, wireless controller charge through this USB
SACD is super audio cd which if you have dolby surround and stuff like that is pretty awesome I hear.
One friend told me that 40 GB were having more problems but I don't know how true that is.
I got the 80gb recently (it comes with a game as opposed to spiderman on 40gb which I didn't want)
