PS2 no workee

I have one of the original PS2 stations (got it the first X-mas they came out). It won't run certain games (the ones with blue discs...apparently a common problem with the initial models).

Is there an inexpensive solution for this...? I know I can buy a new one for $150 but I'd like to see if there is a cheaper alternative. Has anyone encountered and solved this problem...?

I have not had a problem with mine but i have heard from several boards and a buddy of mine also had this problem. Sony honored the warranty although they were way out of warranty becuase it was their first problem. Contact sony and see waht they say.

I don't know if EB games still does this, but about a year or so ago I traded in my old, broken ps2, a controller and 5 games for a new slim PS2. Definitely worth it.

You can take the cover off and spray the inside down with a can of air. This is a fix for most models and you will be SHOCKED at the amount of dust in there. Try this, before you do anything else.

If it is a "disk read errror"

try turing your ps2 upside down, it heps the disc "connect" better.
