Protesters Attack US Embassies in Yemen, Egypt

The US embassy in Yemen has now been attacked, and the US embassy in Egypt has been attacked again. The religion of peace appears to be on the verge of a global meltdown, this time purportedly as a result of a movie trailer that they found offensive. Of course four people have already been murdered by these people and the way things are going, who will be surprised to see that number rise.

What is especially disturbing in this second round of attacks in Egypt, especially after President Obama made his initial statement. The Egyptians are a country with a solid army that is quite capable of providing protection here, if they desire to do so. The Egyptian Prime Minister made some comments yesterday promising that they would be protected, but as the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, he gets his support from people like those who are instigating these attacks.

Weakness is provocative and the kind of accommodating response that was initially provided by our government in this incident is surely only helping to make matters worse. In any case, even after President Obama belatedly spoke to this issue yesterday, this appears to be getting worse, not better. Not a lot of respect being demonstrated here towards President Obama.

So what should the diplomatic response be when your countrymen produce a movie so offensive to Muslims it gets them out in the streets motivated to kill? Imagine your audience is deeply offended Muslim, not the Republican National Committee.

You think if we projected "strength" by saying "We don't give a **** about your feelings, We're Americans and we'll say what we want." would make us more secure in the region?

I promise you that if all diplomatic correspondence is pre-cleared with right wing nationalist, "diplomatic" would mean the opposite of the current dictionary definition.
 
If the governments in Egypt and Yemen don't immediate break up these riots, we should use use US force to protect our people. In fact, I wouldn't mind seeing a US fighter plane strafe these guys with gunfire.
 
Obama has been about as appeasing and accommodating towards this group of people as can possibly be imagined. And yet, they remain murderously angry, to the point of acting out directly against the US like never before.

Apparently they are not being accommodated to their satisfaction. So, what is it that we can do to satiate their wrath at this point, other than agree to modify our conduct to conform to their ongoing requirements and accommodate their every demand? And would that even suffice, considering that we are infidels in their minds, after all?
 
While Media continues to blame a ' movie" no one has for this rioting Why are they ignoring reports of some islamists shouting Osama's name .

Does anyone really think these protests were really brought about by a movie that hasn't been shown yet?

"U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo.

Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson “did not permit U.S. Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple reports on U.S. Marine Corps blogs spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any U.S. military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.”

U.S. officials have yet to confirm or comment on the reports. Time magazine’s Battleland blog reported Thursday “Senior U.S. officials late Wednesday declined to discuss in detail the security at either Cairo or Benghazi, so answers may be slow in coming.”

If true, the reports indicate that Patterson shirked her obligation to protect U.S. interests, Nightwatch states.

“She did not defend U.S. sovereign territory and betrayed her oath of office,” the report states. “She neutered the Marines posted to defend the embassy, trusting the Egyptians over the Marines.”

While Marines are typically relied on to defend U.S. territory abroad, such as embassies, these reports indicate that the Obama administration was relying on Egypt’s new Muslim Brotherhood-backed government to ensure American security, a move observers are questioning as violence in Cairo continues to rage."The Link

I really hope this is not true and I am sure someone from the BO admin will clear this up soon.
 
This should be an easy thing to clear up. Either she did or did not allow our Marines who are supposed to be defending the embassy and the the people in it from having LIve ammo.
The lack of response suggests the BO State Dept is working on a spin.




BTW if I understand it correctly our Marines can ONLY defend IN the compound so protests outside in the street even when they lob grenades in etc can't be attacked by our Marines.

Still I wondered why we couldn't defend those muslims extreminsts atanding on our walls and tearing down our flga to put up a Al Quaeda black flag.
 
If we give you foreign aid, it will be used to protect our embassy first then you can spend the rest. If our embassy goes unprotected, you lose all aid from the US government. Guarantee those things would be safe if these were the rules.
 
Tomorrow is Friday. A day when the perverts in hideous beards will work up the ignorant muslims all across the middle-east and elsewhere into a frenzy. These neanderthals have been doing this for the last 1400 years, and only a well placed nuke may, MAY hammer some change into their thinking.

If you're doing to our embassy what those retards are doing in the pic they should be fired upon. I'm sure when they see a few drop dead they'll retreat.

Of course from a realistic stand point they should have been able to fire on the protestors outside the walls
but if you look at ANY of the many many protests going on now you will see not once will we fire OUT of the compound.
It isn't right but can you imagine the uproar if a Marine shot and killed a protestor? Those poor marines are screwed either way

They will be. It may be messy in the interim, but they will be. Look at Egypt's demographics.

I very much doubt that Egypt will ever become a fundamentalist Islamic state.








It will be interesting to see what becomes of the arab spring. No matter what happens, it won't be a straight path.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden have loudly and proudly politicized the killing of Osama bin Laden, boasting about this mission as if the President and Vice President repelled from the helicopters and pulled the triggers themselves.

And now the Middle East is going up in flames, with our embassies under attack and our diplomats returning home in body bags. These protesters have made it a point to write Osama Bin Laden's name on our Embassy walls with paint cans during the course of their violent protests.

Is there anyone who really believes that there is no connection between these actions?
