Props to T-Wolves Fans ...

I have to admit that I got chills when I saw the sign that said:

"KG will always be a Wolf in Celtic's clothing."

Good stuff.

you have to feel bad for their fans. first, they turn their bad @$$ coach loose who goes to Detroit and promptly dominates. then they turn KG loose for practically nothing in return.

I do feel bad for the fans, but it would have been more criminal to keep such a wonderfully talented player from ever playing for a winner due such a lack of a commitment from the front office to get him any help.

That guy's talents have mostly languished all of these years in Southern Canada with that boob McHale not getting him any help.

One of the most talented guys to come into the league, maybe ever, and he just never got a real chance to get it done or establish a national following.

Being a Laker fan, I have a natural antipathy towards all things Boston Celtic, but I do find myself hoping that they can get it done for this guy.

Wish he could have made it to the Lakers some how.

i've been supporting KG ever since Inside the NBA did a story on him after his rookie year. Don't care for the celtics but I hope he can win a championship.

As a Wolves fan, I'm happy with the deal. What choice was there, really? Keep KG and continue being mediocre for another couple years? If he opted out, he would have left via sign and trade anyway, and at that point you have to think you won't get as much in return.

When you are about to get really young, draft picks always help....even if they are later in the 1st round. Jefferson will be an All-Star for several years. Ratliff has a huge salary that will come off the books. Telfair is proving that he can be a solid backup PG. Gomes (if we can sign him) is a solid role player. And Green..well, apparently he just doesnt "get it" yet, and will likely be gone.

I'm not saying all of that is equal to KG...but if the goal is to rebuild, it is a solid deal for Minnesota. He's got 2 or 3 years of All-Star basketball left in him, and as much as he meant to the city, that would just be waiting 2 or 3 years to start over.

I'm as big a Garnett fan as you'll find, but it's not like he isn't to blame for some of the mess this team was in. Granted the front office didn't have to listen to him, but it doesn't help when your franchise player is influencing you sign scrubs like Mike James, Troy Hudson, and Trenton Hassell to big contracts, all while taking up a HUGE part of the cap.

Compared to other alternatives, that was an incredibly awesome deal that they received from Boston. They had a choice, keep KG and win nothing and be set back 2-3 more years, or blow it up and try to get the best young player they could and draft picks. It worked out better for both teams than even they expected. And Al Jefferson is a very good player, he's not KG, but let's be honest, there haven't been 50 players in NBA history better than KG so that's an unfair comparison. He's good though, and getting better. Bet you didn't know he's leading the league in double doubles this year. Yes, on a ****** team, but so what, he's still taking advantage and playing a team game.
