Other than the lull in scoring in game one after the second inning, the Horns have looked good. First game today was good in that they kept scoring instead of going silent after scoring early. The last game was good in that they showed they can come through in a tight game. The defense and pitching has been really good holding the opponent to one run. I am concerned about going on the road having to play on a real baseball field with dirt and grass.

what difference was there from years past when we played on the road on natural grass and dirt?

these kids have played on all kinds of surfaces. if they couldn't adjust, then they wouldn't have made it to this level.

The astro turf was harder to play on. The ball moved faster through the infield, and actually made it easier for our kids to play on grass. This stuff slows the ball down, and doesn't give us that extra step on grass. Running in dirt is harder than running on brown plastic. Batting in a dirt box may well be harder than on brown plastic too. I guess we'll soon see the results.
