Okay, I won't keep carpeting the CC with photo links...
But these Arbusesque photos taken at our own Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired are so great and touching...
As an aside...
Back in the mid-90s my band played an afternoon gig at the MHMR facility and we were expressly forbidden to bring cameras (those folks danced and writhed at our feet and ran scared and stared blankly and laughed and laughed and laughed). We were apparently allowed to bring pictures, though, as one of the residents repeatedly asked if we had any of ourselves with which we would part. He was willing to accept photo-copies, school photos, etc. Creepy but nice (after triumphantly yelling 'Loud!' he leaned into to me kind of shoulder-to-shoulder and explained that we had been asked to reduce our volume because 'these people are all retards').
Anyway, these pics somehow got out of the School for the Blind.
