Projected starting lineup

Good question. Obviously Holmes, Ridley, Turner, and Taylor. Personally I would like to see Martez Walker at the 2 guard spot based on his play in the tourney.

Practice next year on the interior is going to be highly competitve.

Ridley, Holmes, Turner, Lammert, Cleare (physical beast), and Ibeh are going to have some battles on the boards. It should make this team very physical and dominant inside.

Felix and Hamilton nailing 3's.
Taylor slashing through the lane.
Turner, Ridley and Ibeh pounding the glass.

Brother, we in for some fun

Cleare can't play until 2015-16.

First thing is first: someone has to leave to make room. We've had attrition every year for the last couple, and with 13 scholarship men, we'll need to get rid of the dead weight. I think Barnes would like to eliminate whoever doesn't gel the best with everyone else, but this team seems pretty close, so it'll be a playing time issue. I'm looking towards Croaker and Newsome as the ones who fit that description. Ibeh is also a possibility as Lammert/Turner are big enough to fill in at the post.

This is what I think it will look like by March. Barnes didn't start Tristan Thompson in his first game either, so I think Turner will come off the bench and never relinquish his role as the year goes on.

C - Ridley, Ibeh
F - Holmes, Lammert
F - Turner, Barnett, Newsome (maybe)
G - Holland, Walker, Croaker
G - Taylor, Felix, Yancy

With depth like that, we'll see a lot more 3-guard lineups:
C - Ridley
F - Holmes or Turner, depending on opponent/foul situation
G - Holland (Walker if offense needed)
G - Felix
G - Taylor

I hate admitting this, but I had like, no expectations going into last year. My post about "next year's lineup" that kept getting pulled to the top for my horrible prognostications probably motivated the team. But next year, I'm going to be really disappointed if we don't get to the Sweet 16 and beyond. This depth is crazy compared to every Barnes team back to 2005. Even the good team with Augustin that went to the Elite 8 didn't have this many bodies to throw around.

With regards to Cleare, I was referring to practice being very competitive on the inside. Even though he must sit out a year, I believe he would be eligible for practice with the team. Either way, should be a fun year and we should be dominant in the paint.

"Or you saying Turner will start the season coming off the bench, then become a permanent starter?"

This one.
