Progressive Insurance

I'm thinking of switching car insurance companies. Anyone out there have experience with progressive? They have the cheapest quote I've seen so far. I'm curious how good their customer support is. Are they a pain in the *** if you have a claim? Thanks in advance.

i've made a couple claims and couldn't be happier with their service. they were the cheapest for me as well.

Their 24 hour customer service is great, but my favorite thing about Progressive is the website. You can manage your own policy online. It's like being your own insurance agent. I can make changes to my policy and do quotes on adding/changes vehicles, coverages, etc. By managing my own policy, I actually understand way more about my auto policy than I did when I was paying local agents to do it for me.

90% of the things I've heard about Progressive has been good.

they did not get popped for 25M. they were "popped" for a small percentage of that figure. and, the judge told the plaintiff's attorney that if the jury found against progressive that he would probably take it away.

its a good company with good people. no, i do not work at progressive.

Although they don't rate very well in the latest J.D. Powers survey, I have had positive dealings with Progressive Claims and have recommended them to many.
The Link

If having an agent relationship is not that important to you, they are a good choice and they have one of the better (functional) websites.

We just switched and are now paying about 2/3 less than what we were paying w/ State Farm. State Farm's rates kept going up even though my wife & I have never had an at-fault accident and have made 1 claim in the past 10 years (no claims for me the 15 years I've been with State Farm).

Like the poster above said, their website is ******* awesome. I love it that I can add/remove vehicles & print out the documents that I need. And if I have a question, chances are it's answered there. I rarely am thinking about my insurance Monday-Friday between the hours of 9 am & 5 pm. I think about it in the middle of the night and it's good to know I can get the answers when I need them.

Progressive was 33% less than my USAA policy. Have not had a claim yet with Progressive but have had no problems so far.

I also have Progressive, but have never been in the unfortunate situation of having to make a claim. My wife and I can insure both of our vehicles with more coverage than what we were quoted for just my wife's car with State Farm.
