i can't watch due to location but i am following stats; it is a little surprising the luna isn't starting, esp since this game is televised. i would have thought if they were going to use another pitcher for one of the games vs. georgia, it would have been tomorrow's contest....also because tonight's game will impact the new week's rankings whereas tomorrow night's won't. it does make some sense to see where we are at with other pitchers though...luna has pulled a lot of extra duty during the conference race and we will need to use others at points during post-season play. anyway it looks like we gave up a couple of runs in the first inning...we need our hitters to bring us back and luna will probably need to enter the game sooner rather than later.
I feel a little better now since Georgia didn't start their best pitcher either. But this has been Connie's downfalls; you got to live and die with your ace at this time of season.
Texas played poorly today in front of a national television audience. All of our protestations that Texas was underrated nationally went up in smoke when we could not hit, could not field and could not pitch.
Teams of Georgia's caliber are the future in NCAA play and today they made us look like the future isn't bright. The pitching choice made sense, but we didn't hit or field today. Hope it was just senior day or TV nerves.
The Horns didn't have their best game today but it happens and doesn't take anything away from their season (which includes wins against three top 10 programs, all of whom are ranked higher than Georgia). And I want to thank Tresselt and all other seniors for choosing to attend Texas and for their great work this season, and during the past four years as well. Now let's go and have a better game on Monday!
