Problem (?) with wireless card

I have a Netgear WG511 802.11g wireless card. I have no problem connecting at UT or BB Rovers (neighborhood bar), but run into a lot of problems when I'm at Mozarts checkin' out... err... studying. There used to be a defined Mozarts hub that I could connect to without problem. But the past few times, there are 3 hubs (2002, linksys and G-User) available, none of which I can connect to...

Actually it shows I'm connected to "G-User", but there is no data transferred. I've gone into the command screen, did the whole ipconfig /renew thing, played with all the different settings, but nada. Won't let me connect at all. I thought they may have set a finite number of people who are allowed to connect, but then again some guy shows up and connects without a hitch. Any suggestions on what I should do?

If the network has WEP, then it won't let you connect unless you have the key. Some networks will even let you connect without the key, but they just won't let you do anything.

Another possibility is that they disabled SSID broadcast on their network and you're just picking up other networks in the area. If you remember the name of Mozarts' network before, try to connect to that one manually and see if it works.

Yep-- and if it is WEP, your card has to have the same key as their router... ask them... maybe they secured one of them for people who didn't want to use unsecured ones... gave them both options. Pretty cool if that's the case.

I don't think it's a WEP issue. I was able to connect on Saturday, but not on Sunday. Looking at the available networks, none of them require a password, and I've gone though the config and played with all the settings, but no dice.
