'Printing' a .pdf

On my old computer, I used to be able to print documents as .pdf files. I can't seem to do that on this laptop. What do I need to do to fix that?

You likely need the full version of Adobe Acrobat (not just Acrobat Reader).

I'm pretty sure I had plain ole Adobe Acrobat on my old system. I'll check some of the install CDs that came with the last one. You may be right.

Milkman... thanks for the response. You were right... I found my CD with Adobe PhotoDeluxe (had it installed on my old PC). Installed it on the laptop and now I can print files as .pdf files.

You don't necessarily need Adobe Acrobat. Try this place out: Cutepdf Writer and download their free utility. I've got it. All you do is print out whatever you're looking at and you choose CutePDF as your printer. It places a .pdf file in your My Documents folder and you're done. Better than spending $299 or more....
