Printer/fax recommendations?

I currently have a color/BW HP bubble jet. I think I got it for Christmas from my parents back in 1998. Works still but I would like to get a printer/fax combination. We don't have a fax machine and I have to use mine at work. I would like to have one at home; would make things easier.

I would like a network printer/fax all-in-one type. Would like color so it doesn't need to be a laser printer if that is too costly and I don't need it to be photo-quality color.

Any recommendations?

i have had two brother multifunction devices and both of them have been awesome. the b&w laser still works like a champ but i upgraded to color laser. so far the color one has been flawless and it also functions as a scanner and obviously as a copier. the one i have is the mfc-9440cn. i don't know how much you're looking to spend but this was money well spent for me if it lasts as long as my monochrome laser did. i believe there's also a slightly cheaper model in their lineup that has most of the same features.

I have a Brother multi-function as well, Although it is B&W, it is much better than the HP I had previously.

Was looking to spend ~$250-300 which probably puts me in the bubble jet/fax range. Plus that one sounds bad-*** but also looks a bit bigger than I was thinking (probably b/c it was a laser printer).

uisege, great call. I just read up on it and it has alot of what I want. It is on sale at Circuit City too. I like that it turns itself on if you do a print job. I really didn't want to have it on all the time.

If you can turn the printer 'on' by sending it a print job, that means it was never really 'off'. The little LED may turn off, but I gaurantee it is still drawing a couple Watts. Same applies to Wake-On-Lan features on PCs.
