Prilosec vs Zegerid

A question for anyone/everyone who suffers from acid reflux:

Have you tried Zegerid (the new omeprazole plus sodium bicarbonate)? And if so, does it give better relief than Prilosec?

Every once in awhile I will take generic Prilosec and it works very well so I would have no reason to look for another product. I would think that if your reflux is so bad that Prilosec does nothing for you, see a doctor (unless you already have). That would seem to me an extreme case.

My acid reflux has gotten MUCH better and my need for med's much less since I started supplementing Organic Apple Cider Vinegar into my diet. Voila, quickly relieved symptoms.

The omeprazole (Prilosec) actually takes about an hour to start working so the addition of sodium bicarb helps raise stomach pH faster. Meds like Prilosec work very well but best taken on an empty stomach.

They are good for everyday use as directed by doctor but if you are having a bad taco moment, you may do well with Pepcid Complete.

Omeprazole helps my reflux, but Nexium stops all symptoms. With Rx coverage it's lower cost than OTC Prilosec.

As a supplement, be sure your bed is situated such that your head is higher than your feet.(meaning some houses can have as much as 1" or 2" of slope so you want to have your head higher than your feet in my limited experience)

Second you want to sleep with a few extra pillows under your whole tip part of your body, every night.

Both of these over the past 5-6 years have essentially cured mine without drugs. Once you can stop the imflammation by not having your esophagus bathed in stomach acid every night it really allows that valve to get stronger.

Maybe it is just me though. I'm no doctor for sure.
