Priceline Question

Has anyone on here ever tried to cancel reservations on Priceline? Unforseen circumstances have forced me to cancel a trip in which the airfare and rental car were booked through them. I know it is "non-refundable" etc, but thought I would try to get credit or something. I would use them again if they would do that. I tried to use the "Name Your Price" and it would not take any of my bids, so I had to go with the "bid" they suggested, which was still about $190 less than through the airline itself.

Their policy is that if you use the "Name Your Own Price" function you are SOL. But I really did not get my own price. I am about to call the credit card company and refuse to pay that charge. I just can't stomach eating $500. Priceline just keeps telling me that I can not cancel the reservations. Essentially forcing me to just "no show". I have used them before to get hotel rooms, but this is the first time I tried to get airfare. If I can not get at least a partial credit or something, it will be the last. They won't miss my money though, I am sure.

Anyone?

i have done this before,. but with hotwire (deep discounted tickets, non-refundable).

my credit card company (and that was AMEX!!!) sided with them. i lost $320.

lesson learnt.

you can put up a good fight, and see how it goes.

They are reaaaal sticklers about the "no changes" policy. I rented a car last year and later realized I needed it for an extra day. They wouldn't even change my reservation to add another day. I was willing to pay full price for the 1 day and they still wouldn't do it.

No chance. I found out a hotel I booked through them was going to have a labor strike during our stay. I freaked and tried everything I could think of to get them to cancel or change the reservation. No dice, but thankfully the "strike" wasn't a big deal after all.

Although I will say they kindly refunded my money for a reservation I had on September 12, 2001.
