Preston to have surgery?

whoa! That's what Augie just said on the post game press conference. When asked how big the injury was to Clark, he said 'huge. same with Moldenhauer. Preston is probably doing to need surgery.'

Said the extent of Russell Moldenhauer's injury not known. Said his 'patella (sp?) popped out, kinda like a dislocation of the knee'

I'm sorry to hear about Preston. It looked bad when he went down and I was surprised when he stayed in. I understand the competitive spirit, but at the end of the inning he couldn't get off the field under his own power. Hopefully he didn't do any additional damage by staying in.

(I was also surprised when he played up on the next batter prior to the two-strike count. Graham has more class than to bunt to a freshly injured 3rd baseman; I'm half surprised Graham wasn't saying "go ahead and back up... we're not bunting" as he stood in the coach's box.)
