I'm sure it's in the 60-page game thread but I just thought our Senior Warrior from Rockwall deserved a thread.

There were a few of those putouts that he used to set a record last night @33 that he dug out of the black ball turf at the last second and a couple that he pulled out of the sky. He also fielded just about everything hit that way and had a solid clutch defensive effort.

Oh, and he hit a bit too.

Thank you Preston for your long tenure here and I hope that you and the rest of your fellow Seniors have your chance to see Omaha before you retire the spikes.

I'm just going to have to put this back up at the top of the page after tonight's big bomb.

Hadn't been for Woody's once-in-a-lifetime pitching performance, Rockwall woulda been the Regional MVP.

With hindsight, I am glad that Loy's ball did not go out - so that Preston could get his moment. He deserves it, and he came through like a champion.

He knew that pitch was gone the second it left the bat. It is awesome to see these Seniors coming up so big.

Preston, as you know, you've been my favorite player for a long time!! Those of us outside the right field fence will miss you!! and your mom.

He also correctly guessed that the first pitch was going to be a curve ball and he just leveled that SOB. Great clutch hit! My condolences to all the poor slobs that left after the 8th inning and listened to the end on their car radios.
