Presidential Election Wildcard

Was watching the Colbert Report, a rerun actually, and there was a guy on Elliot Ackerman of www.americanselect.org/. It's a website/organization that's planning to get ballot access in all 50 states for a candidate that will be chosen in June 2012 through direct nomination on the website.

It will be really interesting how it plays out. I would expect the candidate to be far left but a strong moderate could really shake things up. From my own perspective, I worry a liberal third candidate could cost Obama reelection.

Any thoughts?
