I know these mags don't have the best track record but it is good to see Texas mentioned among the top 15. Last season's run to the Sweet 16 helped to raise awareness of Texas in WBB. Now this team needs to have an good run in the NCAAs to help keep Texas going up.

Fall in line with ESPN's 2015-2016 preseason ranking...IIRC, Texas was 9th or 10th.

Just like preseason football rankings -- it is useless data based on only gut feel. However, it is a benchmark of how well recent recruiting has gone and the reputation that is gained in the recent W-L record. Of course ------ if you are in SEC football/baseball, preseason rankings really are only part of a popularity contest.
