Predictions on the season's record

I'm interested to know what everyone thinks of this year's team. GG will have Cokie back along with a nice mix of veterans and promising recruits. What record do you think GG needs, not including the NCAA tourney, to have a "successful" season? Or what would it take for you not to be disappointed, anyway? Next, how deep do we need to go in the NCAA tourney for it to be considered a success? Assume that we won't lose anyone to injury and go from there.
 
Wow, kind of surprised no one took a shot. Does that mean that everyone is afraid to commit? I think we end up 4th in the conference losing every game to Baylor and A&M (expected) and at least 2 other games that we're supposed to win. I hope I'm wrong but we seem to have done that for the last several years now. I think we win 24 games for the season and make it to the 3rd round of the NCAA tournament this year.

My prediction of 24 wins includes NCAA tournament victories.
 
I certainly don't think we're going to win 25, considering that we only play 30 regular season games. Last year we won 18 during the reg season and one in the Big12 tourney, putting us at 19 when the NCAA made their selections. We were a #8 seed. If we go 9-3 in our non-conference contests, go 12-6 in conf play, and win at least one in the Big12 tourney, that puts us at 22 prior to NCAA play. If that happens, we should end up as a 4 or 5 seed, IMO (based on conference and schedule). OU was a 6 seed last year based on 21 wins prior to NCAA post-season play, and a 10-6 conf record. Given that we play more Big12 contests this season, the 12-6 record I projected above for the Horns would be slighly better than the Sooner's performance last season. If we end up at 21 wins entering the NCAA tourney, I predict a 6 seed (same as OU with the same record last season). 25 wins would be nice but highly unlikely IMO; if that happens we're probably top two in conference and at least a #3 seed.
 
20-10, It's going to be ugly out the gate but 1/3 of the way into conference I think we'll pull it together. Our X factor this year is our freshman. It will take them that long to get adjusted.

Semi's in Big 12 tourny, one of the last 4 teams standing.

2nd round NCAA maybe 3rd if the Freshman, Anderson, Fussell, Brewer and Reed come to the party and leave it all on the court.
 
With the talent of this coach as demonstrated the last few years, clear the mantle, there is a national championship trophy coming to Austin!

I say we'll win 2 of 4 of the remaining home games. Likely some combination of OSU, Tech & OU. Lose the KSU & Baylor road games with the Missouri road game being the determining factor in whether this team has a winning record or breaks even. Win at Missouri and the prediction I gave in November is spot on.
 
1-6 ... win only against Tech. (and that's a stretch) and Missouri gets their 1st Big XII victory over Texas at Missouri.
 
Wow. Thanks for reviving this thread. Seeing a lot of usernames that assured me last year that this wreck would have a happy ending. We are so lame. Womens basketball should return all its money back to Longhorn Football.
