Prediction: update your season prediction

I'm late to the party. I didn't make a prediction. Normally I do, but stuff happens. Okay, here's mine and I admit I'm probably swimming against the current.

I see one loss for sure, maybe two. As good as things are now, we've already had one significant injury and another one in the wrong spot is really bad.

Also, I don't see anyway possible for our DBs to keep up with Missouri, and even possibly OU. I was pretty impressed with Sam the other night. And that new no-huddle offense of theirs, they dictated when TCU could sub and when they couldn't.

OU could take five yards anytime they wanted, all they had to do was a quick snap. Bam, penalty five yards, like taking candy from a baby.

Texas will run the table beat OUsucks but will lose to either Mizzou or Kansas but will win the rematch in the Big12 championship game and get a BCS birth. If things go the right way that BCS game could be for the whole enchilada.

at this point I really can't see us losing at Ks. I believe Ks loses 4 or 5 (ou, mizzu, ut, plus either tech or col). i've been a little disappointed in them so far...

13-0 and play SEC champ for the national title

My initial thought was 3-4 losses. I assumed CU in boulder might be tough and thought KU's pass attack would be too much for our young DBs. I'll revise that to 2-3 losses.

I'm worried that we are looking at that #5 ranking and thining it means we are a typical top 5 type team, when it may mean we are a typical #10-12 type team in a season where a lot of highly ranked teams got upset.

I see in this team a lot of the same that I saw in the 2005 MNC team. In attitute, I mean.

OU is the real deal this year as opposed to 05; however the 05 tOSU team we beat at the Shoe was better than this year's OU team, defensively. Given OU's showing vs. TCU, I think that we can take their ***, if we put pressure on Bradford. Our O-line is much improved from last year, and McCoy is the kind of QB that every team wishes they had. A real leader that has been in just about every situation possible.

Colt has suffered through injury, and come back stronger apparently; he has been in big games; he has led the team to come from behind wins in hostile environments; and most importantly he became the undisputed leader of this team last season.

Colt, and the more aggressive attitude on D, are the reasons that I am predicting a BCS NC game berth. I predict that we will beat OU. Getting Mizzou at home is a big plus, and we beat them in a real shootout, while Colt makes his Heisman statement in primetime on national television. A close game either at Tech or here at home for the Aggies, will put our heads on straight again before we head to the Big XII title game and beat Mizzou again.

I know, take off the burnt orange glasses, and stop drinkin the kool-aid, but dammit Colt and the aggressive D really make it hard to do that.

HOOK EM!!

I predict a storybook October Run. We will play three top 5 teams over the course of four weeks, and we will be ranked #1 by the end of it.

Before the season, I thought we would lose 2-3 games.

We will not lose more than 2 games, and (barring any more major injuries) my guess is that we will only lose 1, at most. I do not believe we will lose to Mizzou in Austin, and the only other possible losses I see are ou and Tech (because Lubbock is a crazy place).

I really think it all depends (again) on what happens in Dallas. So, I'm going with 11-1 in the regular season.

I predicted 7-5 before the season with losses to CU, OU, MU, Tech and KU. Playing at CU and KU still worry me considerably but we have to be favored to go to both of those places and win with the way the team is coming together.

I'm still not convinced that we can beat OU without a true running game outside our QB. OU is going to come after Colt and press our WRs tight and make it very difficult to move the ball in my opinion. We'll know more about our young secondary after Saturday in the Rockies but facing the OU offense will be whole 'nother enchilada.

I will amend my prediction to 9-3 with losses to OU, Tech and Mizzou.

I see us going into the OU game undefeated, amped and ready to take on the world. I see a disheartening loss that sends into a K-State like funk that causes us to drop the next game against Mizzou and we never quite recover. We finish with 3 losses.

Hope to heck I'm wrong.

What have you possibly seen from this team that makes you think that will happen even if we lose to OU ?

This team has an attitude and I don't think a loss to OU would send them into any kind of tail spin. As a matter of fact it might just anger them and make them play even harder.

Its what I haven't seen. A loss.

Losing changes attitudes. This board after the arky home loss, the kstate loss, the aggy losses are evidence of this.

And we're the fans. Imagine how the players feel.

Like I said. I hope I'm wrong about all of it.

I think we beat OU, run the table, and play for the MNC >IF< our safeties are able to step it up at the RRS. They MUST continue to take big steps to improve their play.
