Predict Texas v.s. OU (sux)

Texas is not good this year, but neither is OU.

From my untrained and un-Maddened eye, lots of similarities to Texas. Can score quickly and easily, yet go long stretches with boring, 3 and out series. Defense looks bad, with the middle of the field seemingly a Forbidden Zone that no defender can enter.

Will be lots of Doom and Gloomers on this week - rightfully so after the triple dud last Saturday of 1. Give up a long drive for a TD including letting the TCU QB run it in from 30 yards out 2. Failing to score on the next possession though was oh so close 3. Not being able to shut TCU down to one series and forcing a punt. More than anything else, I think that blown 3rd and 7 play is going to haunt Texas this year.

Anyway, I'm going positive for this week. So much of football is QB play, and Texas clearly has the better QB than the Pygmy Rattler, who has the same hair style as every woman who goes to Cancun and gets her hair braided, then develops a 3rd degree checkerboard sunburn on her bone white scalp.

You could go by any Home Depot, honk the horn twice, and pick up a truck full of illegals who would play better than either team's defense (Pro tip - honk the horn, then drive a block before you park. The ones who really want to work are going to run at top speed to your truck - hire those). So expect a high scoring, exciting game. I'm thinking 48 - 45 or such, Texas.

The B12 games have been exciting this year, so just accept that Texas and all the other schools are going to have 3-4 losses, and play no relevance in the national picture, and enjoy the wild season for itself.

This game will not be as close as everbody thinks.

Texas 38, OU 21

We have a much better run game than they do, and will be able to control the clock.

Our D is not great, but we will force Rattler into a couple of turnovers. He'll throw for 350 yards, but he'll also throw us a couple of picks.

I just laid down $5000 on Texas +2.5. I couldn't believe my good fortune when the betting sites had us at that number, I assumed we were going to open as maybe a 4-5 point favorite, which means I can't make that much money betting on us. I freaking love it, because I get to bet on Texas and I get a much better payout for my money too.

I'm shocked that OU is favored. They have looked much worse than we have so far.

But have you forgotten that we have Herman as our coach? They have Riley and that's worth about 7 points.

As I've predicted before, it appears Riley isnt quite as amazing without a ready-for-the-NFL quarterback at the helm. Looks like a regular Big12 coach to me now...

Austin do you honestly believe we have a much better run game? Ingram may be the best back but our run game? Not so sure.

Pygmy Rattler has looked fine for a redshirt freshman (I belive) QB. He'll more than likely turn out to be a very good QB in their system. But as you'd expect from someone with 3 stars under their belt, inconsistent play, combined with lots of INTs. I think a lot of new QB's into college or the pros do that. They have to learn that throws they could make at the lower level, they can't do anymore - the DB's are too good.

And yeah, lots of folks predicting a UT loss. I could see it coming last week - barley beat a poor TT team, probably got way too happy in the locker room from that, combined with an always tough for Texas, TCU team.

I don't see that this week. Should be a high scoring, exciting game, more like the Tech game, and I think Sam pulls out a win based on his play.

Duck, what 3rd and 7 are you referring to?

Sloppy game with a 1000 miscues that really hurt and the Ingram fumble at the 1......ball should have been in Sam's hands for TD and the win but...............

The 3rd down play when TCU had the ball after the Texas fumble. Don't remember if it was 3rd and 7 or 5, was more than a few yards, and TCU got it, to get a new set of downs and be able to run out the clock.

Without that play, they punt, Texas gets the ball back with decent field position, and I think about 130 left to play, so plenty of time. That was the ball game there.

And also, nothing wrong with handing it off to the RB. Remember, having the QB try to run it in cost Texas most likely a B12 title in 2006 when Colt got hurt against KSU, then a NC in 2009, when he got hurt against Alabama doing the same thing.

Rattler is a good QB for a redshirt freshman. Remember that Riley has taken mostly scrub QBs and elevated them to Heisman level.

Rattler will be VERY good 3 years from now, so we'd better win now while we have a chance. I predict Rattler will be a top 5 NFL draft pick by the time he's done at OU.

But this year is our year. Rattler is just too green to come in and win against Sam Ehlinger. Ehlinger has the moxie and experience and doesn't make the freshman level mistakes that Rattler makes.

Like I said, Rattler will probably throw for 350 yards and 2 TDs against us, but he will also throw up a couple of picks for us and that's enough for Texas to win.

I agree with you on Rattler....not knocking him at all....but he is a far cry at this moment in time from what Riley had been spoiled with his first 3 years on the job. He looks mortal now as a coach without that benefit.
I also agree on the RRR upcoming. Throw everything out the window....gonna be two desperate teams giving all they got. I expect Rattlers inexperience to be the difference. If we can get pressure....look out. Right now what I am looking out for is our injury updates. Then I'll make my score prediction. Worth noting is they get their best pass rushing linemen back and also worth noting two of the sooners that caused us the most trouble around the line last year are gone.
One things for sure.... alot is at stake here. If RJ and Moore play.... I believe we win with bounce back day for Ehlinger.

Pressure - that’s the deal maker or breaker on this game. Give Sam or Rattler time and they are going to be the difference maker. Neither team imo, will be able to solely rely on a run game.

Which of the 3 experienced Senior quarterbacks now playing in the NFL including 2 with prior CFB playoff games under their belts do you believe was a scrub when Riley got them?

We can't put pressure on anyone compared to other teams - See Iows St vs. TCU...

OU probably 50ish, Texas somewhere in 30's when I turn it off pissed off...

Baker Mayfield was a scrub, a washout who was going nowhere until Riley got him. Without Riley that punk would have gotten nowhere near the first round, much less the #1 pick.

Jalen Hurts was an Alabama cast off who was going to be a 4-6th round pick at best until Riley got him.

Even Kyler Murray upped his draft stock immensely after Riley got him. He was slated as a 3-4th rounder before the transfer.

51-35, ou. And the sooners do most of it on the ground. Because I haven't smoked crack like that guy up this thread has...

Apparently not in the clutch (think at the goal line). Also, take out Sam's yardage (130 yards). I'm talking tailbacks only.
Considering the tailbacks it only gets worse, Ingram with 44 against UTEP and 89 at tceh, and Johnson with 63 against TCU
