I think people look at last weekend's OK State vs. TCU game and think "man these are the ones we need to look out for" but I don't think we'll get through KSU/KU unscathed on the road. Heck, Baylor will probably give us a game.

oSu has always scared me the most of the Big XII teams, but they have almost always found a way to blow the big game. If the kids are allowed to play smash mouth on D, jam the WRs at the line, I think we win by 14+. IF we are forced to play a zone, lose by 10, soft zone lose by 14-20.

Kansas & K-State want to be "that school" by we are catching them late and wounded. Tight first halves and then roll.

TCU is the "show me" game. Sonny wants to prove that Chris made the wrong choice. Sark wants to show the world that Chris made a great choice. Beat oSu and this one goes to OT. Lose to oSu and take it out on the Froggies. (The latter using my best Kern Tipps voice.)

Baylor should roll into Travis County in a quandary over has their coach left, is he going to leave, when is he going to leave.

4-1 with Mike Gundy being "the one".

This team has the athletes to go 5-0, but the mental aspect to go 3-2. I see 1-2 loses based on what I’ve seen so far. Where those loses are is hard to say from a team that can beat Bama but let Tech win, win easy against West Va, and struggle against I State.
I will say that Sark finally learned how to close a game and changed his strategy— of all gas—Just run your best 2 players down their throat and give the QB easy passes. His O line can help now in that area. Kentucky did the same to beat Miss.State.

3-2. We have biased officiating to overcome and we’re altogether not good enough to do that yet.

Here's a good coach:

In fact, the Big 12 is now loaded with coaching talent:

Klieman
Mullet (with a haircut now)
Dykes
Sark
Leipold
Campbell (until this year, he was the conference golden boy of coaches)
Aranda

With those guys leading the opposition, there will be few cakewalks.

Not enough games on the Tech coach yet to know, but he seems pretty good too. He beat us, with a lot less talent on his squad.

Chop,

There are some great offensive minds on that list, but the best OC in the conference is the kid at Tech.
Zach Kittley learned coaching from one of the best, his dad Wes. He coached track at Abilene Christian for around 20 years before being hired away by Tech. Football & track, apples & oranges. But both of those guys get the maximum out of their kids.

Normally I'd say I can't predict this team 5 games into the future. They give schizophrenia a bad name. But since this is the game we're playing I'll say nothing would surprise me other than going 0-5. I think the worst we do is 3-2. Best? The sky is the ceiling.

Well, he sure found a way to beat us (with a few instances of us shooting ourselves in the foot). Tech's O moved the ball and scored against us in a way that Alabama and Oklahoma could not.

We're down to 4 games now - Texas could win any of them, or lose, so on a risk weighted basis, that's 2-2, for a 7-5 record, and worse, 5-5 in non-hired teams.

That would be a pretty pitiful performance in the 2nd year at a top tier college football school.

Texas needs to win out, and at least go to the B12 title game for the season to be anything other than a disapointment.

Looks like TCU will likely win it out right. even if we when remaining games, the Tech loss gives us no chance at tie breaker. We're done.

Remember when DKR referred to TCU as cockroaches who came into Austin with a losing record and upset us and ruined a potential good season. This year we will take on the role of cockroaches and win out and jack up their season. 41-24.

we win out and go to the CCG and win it and finish with a bowl win and a decent 11-3 season.

And I get to watch Utah play TCU or OSU at the Alamo Bowl from my perfect seats. And then make the short drive home.

And everybody talks about what missed opportunities we had and we get ranked number one or two going into next year.

Beats being the Aggies right now.

Not so fast. Tech still has to play Baylor, TCU, Kansas, ISU & OU. Two additional losses is a good bet, if not more. They’ve already lost two in the conference.

This situation is far from over. Of course, we have to win out.

It pains me to say this, but 1-3. Fortunately, with that one win, we both exact our vengeance upon rock chalk and become bowl eligible! Then it's on to certain victory at the Clorox Urinal Cake Bowl!

Texas beats Kansas and maybe Baylor. Absolute ceiling for this team is 7-5. The most talented team in the conference will be about 500. Coaching is very bad.

At some point you are your record. I’ve heard for about the last 10 years how much talent Texas has - with zero conference championships, and pitifully few NFL draftees. The myth that Texas had string after string of super duper ball players leads to delusion by the fans.

According to this we have the 12th most NFL players. So that’d probably cover about the last 10 years. The draft is a bit of a funny thing. You’re in the SEC you’re instagood. If you’re not, we’ll then it’s questionable. So you’re not SEC good and you’re team is average then it’s likely your dudes don’t get draft respect.

I was hoping that Gary Patterson would have been a Dick Tomey type influence for the 2022 team. That didn't happen. Basically his buddy CDC put him on a retirement gravy train. Gravy and Gary don't go well together. You know, all the sweating.
