Patterson pulls his pants up many, many times Saturday.
Patterson is also one of those rare coaches who has adopted a new and foreign (to us) concept. It’s called halftime adjustments.I just don't know about this one
Patterson's teams are prepared
45 to 38 Texas in OTAnd now for the bright side: last year we were the walking wounded at DB in Ft Worth. We had true freshmen like #44 trying to cover some darn good TCU receivers. This year we are better, deeper, and healthier at DB.
Yes Chop, but the Texas secondary still cannot tackle. And now for the bright side: last year we were the walking wounded at DB in Ft Worth. We had true freshmen like #44 trying to cover some darn good TCU receivers. This year we are better, deeper, and healthier at DB.
Chop, what happens when the when this season's #44 strolls onto the field?Well, ol' DBU looks to at least be good for a few INTs per game...
He’s got a year more experience under his belt. Physical ability was never his weakness. I expect him to be quite good as an upperclassman. Better coaching and scheme should also help over time.Chop, what happens when the when this season's #44 strolls onto the field?
I didn't communicate properly. Somewhere on the roster is this year's #44 kid- raw freshman who has no business playing in any game much less ou at this point. What happens when he is pressed into action? Bill Bradley made the shift from an almost adequate QB to stud DB very quickly, but I am hoping we do not have to see a freshman covering ou freshman Marvin Mimms - that will not end well. In fact, based on Texas' secondary's last effort, I do not like any match-up involving Mimms (he is that good-I watched him for 3 years at Frisco Lone Star). He’s got a year more experience under his belt. but Sabre, it doesn't matter when you can not tackle. What happens is that when vacate your space. you leave the post route/slant (depending on how deep your drop is), allowing the QB to throw the ball to a 4.3 guy rather than 4.5 under you. The 4.3 is open in the middle running north & South; the 4.5 is running east/West.
I would, however, love to see the DB play the inside shoulder and stop the slant. It is much more difficult to throw over the top than underneath.
