Can't remember a Preakness Stakes I have looked forward to more. I think if Calvin can keep her clear, and from the 13th position that should be no problem, then Rachel Alexandra will simply smoke the boys today. She is an amazing horse.

Bevo Stevo, the big deal is that it is about to rain there, or might be raining right now. I think a sloppy track might indeed favour Mind that Bird. He knows he can run from the back and he can run in the wet. Not sure what place he is starting in, but the conditions seem to maybe favour him. Can he run like he did at the Derby is the question? You NEVER know.

Ok, looks like now it will be a dry track, as the rain did not come.
I still have no idea who will win.

I don't understand all the rules, but other than the fact that she is a female, why does she carry 5 less lbs? She is a bigger horse than Mine that Bird, so it isn't like she is a small horse. In fact, are fillies usually smaller than stallions? I really am ignorant.

Oh yea, and the gender thing isn't a big deal to me. They are after all, horses.

oh yea, one more thing, it is amazing to me that Mine that Bird came in second all the way from dead last again. If the Preakness was any longer... Mine that Bird would have won... Would Mine that Bird have won had Calvin been atop?

Mine that Bird got trapped just enough to keep him from winning--will be great if both MtB and RA race in the Bellmont

Well....didn't exactly smoke them, but as Calvin said, off the homestretch turn, she opend to 6 lengths and then seemed to pull back some. Hope she is okay. Mine That Bird has a lot of heart. Should be an intersesting Belmont.

I'm not a fan of naming pets or kids before they arrive, but Jess Jackson and the owners should pencil in the name Pegasus right now for Curlin's and Rachel's foal.
