Ok, so let me make absolute sure I'm getting all of this. It seems like we have some SERIOUS potential for some good recruits coming in this year. MUCH better than we have had in a LONG time. So far, this is what I have:
1.) Shawn Williams- He's already made a verbal commit, which can always change, but it seems like he's REALLY leaning towards Texas.
2.) Jordan Hamilton- Hasn't committed, yet seems to be leaning towards Texas QUITE a bit. John Wall has told the media that he's asking him (Wall) to reconsider his schools, so it seems he's quite interested in Texas. I've heard his Myspace page shows he's also quite the fan of Texas.
3.) Avery Bradley- Seems to still have a few options open as well, but a high interest in Texas nonetheless. It seems that him, and Abdul Gaddy claim that they're going to go to the same school, which seems that Texas and Kansas appear to be the popular deals if they're working a package deal together. I've also heard from birds (sorry, no links), that Avery has recently started favoring Texas over Kansas. If that's the case, and is true, sounds like we may have a follower.
4.) Abdul Gaddy- See Above. I feel that if we can nail another high recruit (such as Hamilton above), it may REALLY start pushing the Gaddy/Bradley combo to come join Texas, as it would seem Texas is becoming much more of a defined team, and therefor, is appealing. On the downside, they could become worried about a lack of open positions, and decline being on a powerful team, w/ fear of limited play-time. Either way, I've heard the two are really quite close, and hell.. their play of style seems like they could implement each other quite well.
5.) John Wall- Ya, this one seems like quite a long shot, but as mentioned, Hamilton is trying to pull him over there. Baylor IS close to Texas, so if location is an issue, than Texas is not out of reach. He has also recently claimed that he's reconsidering his options, and technically, Texas is one of those options, and I believe he'll take some serious consideration in Texas, given Hamilton has an urge to come here. I admit, it's quite a long shot, but hell, it's a possibility nonetheless.
Now, I feel we're starting to get some good recruits rolling in due to our recent success, and if that's the case, if we can pull out a good year this year, then we're only going to look THAT much better for recruits, and therefor more fans. We still have an extremely talented team, and will be "arguably" the best team in the B12. I say arguably, but Kansas lost all of their players, but OU has had a lot of recent hype, so I'll say they will probably give us the best shot for the money. Regardless, it's looking like a good year for Texas, and our players have a lot of potential to get better.
What do you guys think?
