Potted plants

I was thinking about trying to put some flowers in a pot to put out around the outside of the house. Are there any good suggestion for a flower that would do well in a pot but that I don't have to replant every year and does well in the Austin climate?

Lots of stuff works well around here....I have scented geraniums on my porch. Regular geraniums, begonias, ferns, they all do well in containers.
It all depends on how much light you have.

If you get full sun and can commit to both watering daily and regular dead-heading, I recommend petunias. They grow well in pots, have a nice fragrance, and come in a variety of colors. I have about seven assorted pots and hanging baskets on my porch and it is delightful.

And all the care they need is watering and dead-heading.
