POTFI!

So they defeated Clemson which played without their #1 draft pick star quarterback. Then they rush the field, uncaring about creating a super-spreader event.

This is why being a sports fan is so complex for me. I don't need the win that bad. I don't lose myself over victories. But I do want my team to win. I like feeling good about it but don't understand why I need it. I have other much deeper things in my life that should matter so much more. And they do. Yet, the vicarious pleasure from the exploits of strangers is such a drug for so many people and I feel it too.

I don't want to feel it. In the end, I want the game to be like the circus. I'm not rooting for the Lions or the tame.

I just want my money's worth. That's it.

This sums up the way I feel about the possibility of hiring Meyer. I want to win, but I won’t sell my soul to do it.

Good win by the Irish, first I believe for Kelly at ND against a top 5 team. Should lead to a re-match in the ACC game, along with the SEC game between probably Bama and UF for at least 1 more spot.

Still wound't mind seeing OU, if they win the B12 as usual, getting served up as the 4th seed (Bye) in the playoffs.

I've never understood the Notre Dame hatred - I think college football needs a strong Notre Dame, as well as a strong Texas and Michigan. Back in the day, the Irish would jump on a train and go play anybody, anywhere. Their independence is part of what makes college football unique and special.

Yep, it makes the game more interesting and history filled to have a strong ND team running around. Texas has played extremely poorly against them over the years, so lots of dislike from Texas fans.

I think they are hated because they refuse to commit to a conference. This year was only because of the pandemic. We will have to see what the future holds for them going forward. Staying Independent might not look so good to them now.

. Staying Independent might not look so good to them now.

They have the Nothing But Catholic network paying them money that they don't have to share. Beats the hell out of having your own network nobody can watch.

Haters need to go to Las Colinas and ask what happened to Bowelsby & NeinASS' discussions with ND. Why the hell was Swofford allowed in those meetings?

With the Clemson & FSU paperwork laying on his desk with GT's on the way, why were they kissing the Catholics' ***, while pissing off Clemson & FSU?

BECAUSE ONE OF THE TWO IS A ******* MORON, and what the other one is would get me & Dion in court. Follow the $$$

60+ years ago in parochial school one of the nuns was going on about Jesus and Notre Dame and I popped off for the first time in my life and asked why, if God was concerned with Catholic football, Holy Cross zucked year after year. She was not amused.

I was so pleased with myself and that the Good Lord did not seem interested in striking me down that I have continued this tendency to this very day.

I am torn between rooting against them and hoping they make it to the NC round and get ground up and spit out by OSU or Bama, or, better yet, Clemsion.

WOW!

And exactly whom, other than Narduzzi and maybe Dan Marino, gives a **** what Narduzzi thinks. Cumulative total of time of lost sleep in South Bend wouldn’t make up a wink. I doubt seriously anyone in Indiana has heard of this article.

If Narduzzi has a problem, the inclusion of Pitt in the ACC is one of Swofford’s bigger fuckups since they take a percentage of the revenue and contribute nothing back.

If he’s really pissed, remove Bowelsby and. NeinASS from his Christmas card list since they were very helpful to Swofford.

Texas and OU should join ACC.

Why? To find out why Clemson, GT, & FSU want out so badly?

ACC is a one school conference. Swofford is a UNC alum, and he still runs that conference. It is UNC, Swofford, Nike, Michael Jordan, and basketball. Clemson can win 50 football championships, and still wouldn't have a voice.

I definitely want to be an also ran in the ACC.

I don't understand why eveyone wants out of the Big XII, except for Bowelsby.

PAC? Battle USC, Oregon, Washington & Stanford in midnight games that recruits won't see

ACC - covered

BigTen - Run by Michigan & Ohio State; Texas has zero power.

SEC - Texas would have more power than A&M, but the road to the payoffs is brutal, and we can't beat TCU while having trouble with Baylor & Tech

Big XII - Beat Oklahoma and go to playoffs, all for the same amount of money

Success in any conference does not include a binder

My understanding:*

Way back, probably when Leahy or Rockne was coach, ND wanted to join the Big 10 but Michigan kept shooting them down. Some of it may have had to do with sectarian feelings that were prevalent back then. The Big 10 had their chance to get ND and they blew it.

There's a similar story that circulates about the Park Cities wanting to be annexed by Dallas way back and getting turned down. Now, Dallas desperately wants them, and they say no...

*my info on this comes only from old discussions with other sports fans, ND fans, etc. Nothing official, and I have no cites or links.

What Sabre said, except either kill the Conference Championship game or add two real schools (i.e. Arizona and Arizona State).
