Potential Sooner Upset???

Turns out I have nothing to do all day but surf ESPN.com and watch all kind of television programs on college football. Point bein', a few people are sniffin' the probability of an upset by Cincinnati over OU. Ya'lls thoughts? If they do, that would definitely help Cincy accomplish their goal of jumpin' into the big boy pack. Open the opinion flood gate.. GO NOW!

cincy's not gonna be able to do it on their own. OU will have to help out with turnovers and such, but definitely is a game that if Cincy brings A game and OU does not, an upset is possible.

I like OU to win, but UC to cover, call it 31-14 Sooners.

Possible, but highly unlikely. As said above, ou will have to screw up a lot and help them out.
I hope ou wins. I want the Horns to be the first to beat ou every year, unless ou loses all prior games.

Even though I haven't seen them play and they haven't been tested this year, I think OU will roll this year. I hope that is not true, but I do not see Cincinnatti going in there and giving them a game....but we said the same thing about TCU a few years ago.

Cincy's 2007 record. Pretty impressive.

Aug. 30, 2007 SE Missouri St. (360) W 59-3 1-0
Sept. 6, 2007 Oregon State (ESPN) W 34-3 2-0
Sept. 15, 2007 at Miami-OH (ESPN+) W 47-10 3-0
Sept. 22, 2007 Marshall W 40-14 4-0
Sept. 29, 2007 at San Diego St. (Vs) W 52-23 5-0
Oct. 6, 2007 at Rutgers (ESPN2) W 28-23 6-0 (1-0)
Oct. 13, 2007 Louisville (ESPNU) L 28-24 6-1 (1-1)
Oct. 20, 2007 at Pittsburgh (ESPN+) L 24-17 6-2 (1-2)
Nov. 3, 2007 at South Florida (ABC) W 38-33 7-2 (2-2)
Nov. 10, 2007 Connecticut (ESPNU) W 27-3 8-2 (3-2)
Nov. 17, 2007 West Virginia L 28-23 8-3 (3-3)
Nov. 24, 2007 at Syracuse W 52-31 9-3 (4-3)
Dec. 22, 2007 Southern Miss. W 31-21

I really think people are sleeping on Cincy here. This team had the most picks in the NCAA FBS Division last year with 26 INT's last year and was in the Top-10 in INT returns for TD's with 4. The most was 6. This defense is VERY opportunistic and will keep them in the game. It remains to be seen if their offense will be able to keep pace. If they had Ben Mauk back (total screw job by the NCAA) then I'd say Cincy would be able to pull off an 'upset' relatively easily, but it will be alot harder without such a playmaker leading them. I'd definately take the points with Cincy if you are betting on this game.

If OU comes out flat and turns the ball over, Cincy is good enough to make a game out of it. If OU comes out ready to play, Cincy won't have the horses to hang with the Sooners.

OU 41
Cincy 17

OU 45 - 17. The Game is closer than the score and OU beats the spread in the 4th quarter because Stoops is trying to pump up the teams confidence and leaves the starters in too long.

those predicting ou sucks are indeed correct.

but ou wins this one and the sooner predicting no cover is right. cinnci ain't bad but ou is damn good.

ou 31 cinnci 20

If the score is tied after the end of Q1, I'd say Cincy has a shot. OU tends to get all over people early at home, but if they don't, it could be a shocker.

I checked out that schedule that someone posted: the only headscratcher was the loss to Pittsburg. Of course, any loss to Pitt is befuddling.

The ABC announcers just said that Cincinnati has 10 players that are being scouted by NFL scouts, so they might be able to make a game of it.
