Pot Roast Recipe

Bought a pot roast to cook in the new 6 qt. dutch oven this weekend. I usually buy a small roast and cook it in the crock pot but now I have a new dutch oven and I want to cook a roast but I'm unsure how to cook one in a dutch oven. Can someone provide me with a good recipe? Something very flavorful or spicy preferred. Mine always seem to be a little bland.

This recipe, modified slightly, has become my standard pot roast recipe. The only modification I make is to add thyme and rosemary, omitting the marjoram. A good cab or malbec works well as the red wine.

Nice thank you very much. I found a recipe for Mexican Roast Tacos that also sounds very good. All you do is cook the roast in Mexican spices and shread the meat like barbacoa. Good thing that I bought 2 roasts.

if you want to make it spicy just add fresh jalapeños to it and you'll be fine. Otherwise just make sure you sear it before you put it in the oven. I like making mine in a crock pot only because it makes my whole house smell like awesomeness for 12 hours.
