2 Alone
Words by Alex Vaught & Kyle Shaffer
Music by Kyle Shaffer © 2006

Verse One:
When the distance between
Is a bridge much too far
Two hearts, broken dreams
Shattered and scarred
When the way you've been walking
Is a road made of stone
That is when love leads to Alone

Chorus:
That's when love (that's when love)
That is when love (that's when love)
That is when love leads to Alone

Verse Two:
When the fires have burned out
Until they are ash
And the fragrance of love
Is part of the past
When the warmth felt inside
Has grown cold to the bone
That is when love leads to Alone

(repeat Chorus)

Bridge:
There's always two sides to a story
And Lord knows that you're hurting, too
When love leads one alone
Love leads two alone
But that still leaves me without you

GIRLS SUCK
(Maxwell/Miller)

You meet, you like, you kiss, you grope
You romp, you talk, you smile, you hope
You trust, you wonder, you doubt, you pray
You just wanna make the whole thing go away

Because girls suck
They suck suck suck
They'll **** you over and dick you hard
Girls suck
They suck suck suck
They'll **** you over and dick you hard
Girls really suck (but I love em)
They suck suck suck (love to %#@* em)
Girls suck.

You talk, she stares, you kiss, she sighs
You ask, she avoids, you *****, she cries
You yell, she screams, you question, she lies
You load, she runs, you shoot, the ***** dies.

Girls suck.

Believe it or not, I was very happy at the time I wrote it! It's a very tongue-in-cheek song actually. We played it a lot in the early 90s here in Dallas and girls used to scream for it. We had to constantly listen to chants of "Girls suck!!" between songs.

I do think it may be the most concise two-verse relationship song ever written...

Nadine: The Link

oh Nadine, I'm sad and blue
desperate, tired & lonely too
Nadine, what can I do
I've just been wonderin' if you've been lonely too

I walked all night, slept all day
ever since you've gone away
nadine...what can I do?
I've just been wonderin' if you've been lonely too

tune i wrote about flash in the pan, top 40 "artists"

sing to me about what you got
soon to be, you won't have alot (to say)
hold onto that pretty face
save it all for another rainy day

and just when you like it
another one rides in
you know you can't fight it
cuz nobody buys it

so take a bow
on your way out, take a bow
it's all over now, take a bow
you made us all proud, take a bow

pipe dreams come to life inside
a world of screams and multi-colored lights
all the while behind the scenes
they pull your strings from smoke-filled limousines

AT LAST I'M NOT IN FIRST

I don't wanna be in first
Cuz everyone is after your ***
So gimme another cold beer
I'm not gonna take it in the rear
While I'm here I'm gonna make it last!

Here's one of my favs.

Fraternity Days

Followed dad and gramps as a third generation pledge
All my new friends bending me over a ledge
To hell with the liberals who don’t understand the haze
Circle jerks at the frat house never gay

Pimps and ho’s party pumping with the jungle juice
Dressing up in black face with the Deuce
Take Jenny dressed as Halle Berry upstairs to get laid.
Reminds me of high school blow jobs from the maid

Balls deep in another date rape
Taking what I want good lord it feels great
Pick the choicest cherries from the sorority
Why is it criminal for future family?

Cat Claw in My Eye
(sung to the tune of "Ghost Riders in the Sky")

I was walking through the park
One cold December day
A pack of dogs had found a cat
With whom they thought they'd play

I watched with fascination
As time seemed to crawl on by
And then I heard a yelp,
And I heard the lead dog cry

Yippie-Ki- Yo, Yippie-Ki-Yi
That cat stuck his claw in my eye

He was just a young orange tabby
Whose claws were strong and sharp as steel
And if a dog dared get close
Those sharp claws he would feel

One by one they circled round
And one by one they tried
And each time I heard a yelp
And then a dog would cry

Yippie-Ki-Yo, Yippie-Ki-Yi
That cat stuck his claw in my eye

It had to be the strangest sight
I've seen unto this day
That young tabby stood his gound
But the dogs they ran away
And as they faded out of sight, on the wind
I heard their mournful cry

Yippie-Ki-Yo, Yippie-Ki-Yi
That cat stuck his claw in my eye.
