Possible ?

It seems that lately Stoops has been going outside of Texas for some of his recruits. This year (so far) only about 7 from Texas. If Strong is going to start going out of state for recruits then (it could happen) some year in maybe as soon as sometime in the next 3 years. At the "Red River" shootout there could come a play with less than 19 Texans on the field. I don't know if they would stop the game, or the TV / radio people would comment or not, but I think that it could happen.

I am wondering if this is just a stop gap. If he doesn't recruit Texas well into the future, I don't see his stay in Austin lasting long.

CS will be fine.

I think Charlie and staff are doing the right thing by working tirelessly hard to visit all the schools around and set up relations in Texas. They are actually doing a superb job right now, even if it won't help too much in any big flips for the 2014 class. But they have reached out to a whole bunch of the 2015 recruits already and seem not to be missing too many names as of now.

But at the same time, they have kept the communication up with those they knew in New Orleans, Atlanta, S.Florida, etc. It would be best for him to have a 3 to 1 ratio of Texas and out-of-state recruits. Say 15 Texas guys and 5 to 7 OOS guys in a normal class. If a top guy at some position is a die-hard aggy who is going to go to aggy, we need to have similar guys to come from other places, and not be in the situation like Mack was the last year and half when the bottom started falling out on top Texas recruits and some panic set in with no easy backup options.

CS should make sure that Texas schools would never feel that UT doesn't care for them (or that UT feels aggy to have monopoly on any school). We will win some and lose some, but moving on and keeping the relations as if nothing happened, is what we should do.

Texas will recruit Texas well. We are still knocking on the door of a top 10 finish this year despite the turmoil and 2015 is currently at or near the top. We will be fine with mostly Texas players in my opinion.

^^^ Probably not a top-10 finish as of now. More like a top-15. It could go up to #12 or fall to #17.
