Pool builder in Austin

Alright I have decided to go ahead and get a pool at my house- anyone have any recommendations for a pool builder in the Austin area? So far I have only asked Cody for an estimate, but I wasn’t really keen on them. Anyone have another recommendation or any tips before I take the plunge (pun intended)?
thanks

I had a pool-builder who no-bid my project discourage me from going with Cody. She suggested Ocean Quest, among others. (Tri-? I can't remember.)

I am sorry, but I do not know any builders in Austin. Good luck, I am sure there are some good one's there.

I second Lakeside Custom Pools. I use to work for them a couple of years ago and I still keep in touch with Randy, the owner. He is a super nice guy and he really takes care of his customers.

Thanks again guys have calls in to 3 so hopefully can get moving on this soon. Lakeside seems to be the one that is recommended more than any other in town but I'd feel better about getting at least 3 estimates for this.

And yes LH, I think a trip from Dallas would indeed be a bit too far to ask!
Thanks again

Have a quote from Austin Waterscapes and Liquid Assets that were almost identical at 130K. I am thinking that is a bit high for what I want so I am going to try both names as well.

Both builders were great to work with in the design phase and I was happy with the design. When I get time, I will post some of the 3-D pics Liquid Assets did.

Here are some of the 3D images I got from Liquid Assets. I really liked them but as I stated, i want to get another few quotes.

I assume that includes all the rock work as well but the estimates seem really high. Lakeside built a family member a nice sized kidney shape pool with hut tub on one end. It had a three tier back wall with waterfall, fountain out of the hot tub, fiber optic lighting that changed colors and great looking rock work and it came out to around 45K. That was a few years ago but still I cannot imagine it could have gone up that much.

That does sound a little high. My boss just had one built in Steiner for around $65K with all the bells and whistles.

We built two years ago and got bids from Cascade, Elite, and Cody pools in Austin. Cascade bid about 15% less than the others. Builders' bids are going to vary according to how busy they are. The fall is probably a slow time for pool construction.

Our pool is 20x40, connected hot tub, huge limestone rocks lining the back length of the pool w/waterfalls. Remote controls for lights, hot tub, valves, cleaner, & 1000 sq feet of concrete decking. In 2006, $60K total.

However, I know everything has gone way up since 2006...

130K is high, I was expecting about 100K. What you don't see is that there is a massive amount of stone work in this plan. In addition the slope is very steep. It would be better if I could give you a pic of an as-is shape.

Also, I live in a neighborhood where I think these companies think they can get away with prices like that.

Still, though, I had 2 companies come within 5% of each other without knowing what the other was bidding.

If it's not too late to get other quotes, I will suggest Mike Bond with Crites Custom Pools.

Tell him that Mark sent you (won't get you any $$ off, but he's a roof customer of mine; 3 different jobs now).

DO NOT HIRE LIQUID ASSETS!!!
We hired them for our pool construction and they did not build as per City code. The sales guy did an awesome job with the upfront pitch but do not get fooled. They have terrible service and very unprofessional people running the Company. We are taking legal action against Liquid Assets for violation of contractual agreement.
Again, DO NOT HIRE LIQUID ASSETS!!!

We used Scallon Custom Pools (used to be watermark). They do lots of high end stuff but are the real deal. You might want to check them out. I highly recommend them. Looks like they are redoing their website right now but they have made some pretty amazing pools.
