Polls are screwed, have been, will always be

I hate the unfairness of polls. Will Clemson overtake Auburn in the polls on Monday, despite beating them by 14 today? Will Miami overtake mighty Ohio State who they beat by 18 today?

Watch, when the polls come out on Monday, how ridiculous they will be. Here are five ranked teams that were beaten today, all by unranked opponents, or were played closely.

#10 SC 24, Navy 21
#15 MI ST 13, ND 31
#17 Ohio St. 6, Miami 24
#21 Auburn 24, Clemson 38
#22 Arizona St. 14, Illinois 17

Will SC move up by their impressive 3 pt. win over Navy? Watch.

I knew ND was not that bad, despite dropping their first two games due to turnovers. Turnovers will equalize the playing field fast. Do you think ND will break into the top 25? Probably not. Watch what happens to Miami, Clemson and Illinois on Monday - probably not much.

This early in the season the polls are never that accurate. Late in the season, they usually aren't much better. Just warning you. At least UT is in the top 25. OU isn't #1 in my opinion either. They were beatable tonight, but they did not play the #5 team in the country, but according to the skewed polls they did. Watch ... and continue to be frustrated.

True, just win your games. Now that I think about it, we shouldn't put too much stock in polls anyway, because how can you expect so many different opinions put 25 different teams in proper order? It's all relative, and our Horns are 3-0 at this point.

SC dropped to 12
Mich St, tOSU, Auburn, and AZ St all dropped out
Miami (23votes) higher than tOSU (16 votes)
#21 Clemson
#24 Illinois

Yeah, those voters are really clueless and don't make adjustments to their votes based on on the field results

What would be your alternative to the Polls?

I personally don't start looking at the polls until the BCS starts releasing theirs. The BCS poll usually gets correct. Not that it is off sometimes, but for the most part it is pretty good.
