Poll: Most ridiculous breakfast cereals

OK, I just had a serious flashback to some of the ridiculous sugary breakfast cereals that were on the market when I was a kid in the 80s. So, I want to see who can come up with the most ridiculous, over-the-top sugary cereal marketed to kids over the years.

My vote: Cookie Crisp. Essentially, little chocolate chip cookies bathed in milk. For breakfast. Good God.

Any others?

Smurfberry crunch. Red balls of dye, sugar, and a generic and sickly sweet "fruit" flavor. Made crunchberries look like health food.

It was freaking AWESOME. I mostly ate it in high school. After 2:00 a.m. While I was completely hammered. I bet it woulda been even better if I had smoked weed.

I agree with the OP. I mean, since when has breakfast been cookies and milk???

Hilarious. That has been a joke that I've used before with some friends one of which eats that. And fruit rollups. And he's over 30.

I used to regularly buy the chocolate chip Cookie Crisp and eat it as a snack.

Of course, I also did that with Froot Loops.

Cookie Crisp is a great call. A close second has to be Cap'n Crunch. That stuff is pure sugar/corn syrup and food coloring.

The addition of "new blue diamonds" to the tried and true lineup of pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars and green clovers was completely unnecessary, and did nothing for me.

Back when I was a teenager in the 80's I used to eat Nutri-Grain Wheat cereal morning, noon and night. They tasted like Wheaties only with less sugar. Wheaties just never even came close to the taste of Nutri-Grain Wheat.
Call me crazy but back when I was a small kid my favorite cereals were always the ones with LESS sugar. I always had a huge
sweet tooth for sugar in almost every kind other of food you can imagine but I never liked it in my cereal.

I loved that Nutri-Grain stuff to death but they stopped making it long ago. I would KILL to find a box of it today (no luck).

hell the Mini-Cinnabuns were awesome and a change of pace from cookies for breakfast... ohh.. and Cinnamon Toast Crunch....

and what about Peanut Butter Cap't Crunch... not like the regular was bad enough...

That is the best cd ever. I drunkenly wrote a gushing review of Waylon Live on Amazon and it started showing up when people ever googled my name. It took forever to finally get all that deleted.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch was a sugar high waiting to happen and soooo good. King Vitamin was a staple for me growing up. Then my parents got healthy and we had Grape-Nuts which I promptly learned to sneak copious amounts of sugar into the bowl. This concoction made for a longer lasting and stronger sugar/energy high. It was like eating a sugary tree in every bite, right Yul Brenner?

Frankenberry - close friend of Count Chocula
Frosted Flakes - Theerrrrreeeee GRRRRRRReat!!!!!
Honeycomb - I am still looking for the Honeycomb hideout
Sugar smacks
Rice Crispies
Apple jacks - A is for apple J is for Jacks - A and J makes apple jacks
Lucky Charms - they are magically delicious

But remember for kids a bad breakfast is better than no breakfast

Although my father was a D.D.S., I've eaten every cereal listed on this thread. Even today when my wife says what's for dinner; I'll say cereal?

I grew up through the 70s and 80s and I've never even heard of King Vitamin.

All of the others were of course regulars at my house, but as I hit junior high I, too, started preferring the less sugary stuff. To this day, Grape Nuts with just a little bit of honey is my favorite breakfast cereal.

Holy Crap Wash...where did you find that?!?!? It brings back memories of HR Puffenstuff and Wacky Racers...I remember begging my mom for that cereal because I had a Huffy BarnStormer bike and thought they were the same character.

That was forever-ago...

Well, unless you consider Austin a port city, this still doesn't explain why I have heard of Cap'N'Crunch but not King Vitamin...
