Where is Orlando going?

Tennessee? They don't know his name, and their inferiority complex insists on a recognizable nameo

Arkansas? Not even if he worked for free and graduated from Southwestern Theological Seminary.

Ole Miss? Possibly but doubtful

Miss State? Too much like Aggies to hire a no name

UTSA? Possibly because that guy is getting a lot of good press

UTEP? Sure for a third the salary

I really hope we can keep him another year. Consistency is very much needed right now, especially on defense.

As a lifelong Longhorn and a Texas Ex, I truly do like Tom Herman and love what I see him trying to instill in our players (self discipline, accountability and physicality of the teams play). That being said, I still have some very serious concerns about Tom's game day planning and approach to critical situations...as such I would really like to ask Tom a few questions:

1) When you have a true Freshman QB (which Texas has had for the last 3 years) and who lost his first start in OT due to a questionable decision that turned the ball over...then why when we get in the red zone (and especially inside the 10) would you not let a more experienced and better passer finish the drive (when you are in a critical time in the game or against a serious competitor).

2) What is it that compels our coaches to continually run the "East-West" offense when history and results show they do not work when used every other play (or in some cases more frequently)...when we have a experience or weight advantage why not try running the ball straight at them?

3) Why let a Freshman QB throw a pass from the 2-3 yard line on first or second down (especially when he has previously lost games trying to do the exact same thing), instead of just running the ball off of tackle and straight at them.

4) Why do we not have a goal line running play where our QB is under center that would greatly increase the probability of success on the goal line per #3 above...I have never liked the idea of our QB taking a snap from the shot gun and turning and carrying the ball backwards to the running back (now we are starting the play from 6-7 yards behind our center and this seems to be a formula for failure (see the Texas Tech game).

5) Clock management in the last 4-5 minutes of the first or second half...again see the Texas Tech Game

It seems to me that we handicap our own offensive efforts when we predictably continue to stick with these approaches and I believe at least 3 and possibly 4 of our losses this year are a direct result of this.

None of this is meant to reflect negatively on our coaching staff or our players...the players are young and need to learn...but it would help if the adults In the room would give them some guidance and advice based on the coaches real life game experiences.

Respectfully,

I think most of our run plays involving RBs were straight at the opponents. We didn't run wide much outside of end arounds, jet sweeps, QB stretch plays, etc.
