Classic police cars were for lack of a better word - macho. They were big bad V-8's that could chase you down.

Things have been changing, but London has taken this to an extreme:

In a place like Texas those cars are laughable. In a highly and tightly packed city like London they actually make a good bit of sense. And I am no big defender on London government.

Cops should be on foot or bicycles to begin with. Chasing cars usually ends up bad and not many crimes occur while someone is driving down the road.
