plumbing gas to kitchen

We are closing on a house in about two weeks. We are use to using gas for the cooktop and would like to plumb gas to the kitchen. However, the range would be on an inside wall. There is gas in the laundry room about 25 ft away and just past that for the water heater.

Basically, what is the easiest way to accomplish this? Is it possible to run gas lines in the attic and down the wall like cable, for instance. Just wondering what we should expect when we finally get someone to give us a quote. Is this going to be extremely expensive?

Thanks

I didn't mean to suggest that I was going to do the work myself. I just didn't know if it was possible, without ripping up flooring, foundation, etc., to pipe gas to an inside wall.

there is new, plastic gas lines that make this much easier. In face a lot of newer houses have a gas manifold in the attic and then all the flexible, plastic lines run from there. Hopefully that will keep your plumbing bill down.
