I don't know what it costs in Austin, but we had our house in Temple replumbed a few years ago (maybe 2004?) for $1,900. Our house is older -- built in 1952 -- and still had the original brass pipes. We had been having them patched so often, we finally had to just bite the bullet and have the whole thing done.

Be sure you have them replumb all the way to the street.

my house was built in '40. almost everything is original. had line to the street replaced last summer (not by choice)
