Pluckers in SW Austin

alright get this thing built. i saw the link on the pluckers.net website.

we need a sports bar in SW austin.

The Pluckers people tell me they haven't picked a location yet, but are looking to open in the 4th Q of this year or the 1st Q of next year.

Maybe I should suggest the old pizza hut by my house that closed down just recently.

That is too got damn long. I've been waiting on Costco/Taco Cabana at William Cannon and MoPac for all eternity. There are plenty of empty storefronts in Escarpment Village open..I can't imagine it would take more than a few months to throw a Pluckers in there.

i have heard rumors that it might be in that kohls/red robin area. not 100% obviously but that is what i have heard rumors of.

It's been a few months. I was told by a Pluckers employee during the summer that they were going to be putting it at the old Blackeyed Pea off South Lamar. I drove by a few weeks ago going to the Spoke and didn't see any development.

Any news? We desperately need a good sports bar in SW Austin. My only concern is that the Blackeyed Pea location seemed pretty small.

I would love for it to be in the old Black Eyed Pea. That's about two minutes from my house and I could even walk there if I wanted to tie one on.

Anyone know what's going in at the old KFC on Barton Springs Road. It's now being painted and renovated.

hyde park is in the old grandys off westgate and ben white.

the old blackeyed pea is off of lamar north of ben white about 1/2 mile. it is by that wendys.

i have yet to hear any dates about the pluckers though. hope they are working on it.

I doubt that's going to be a Plucker's on Brodie / Lamar by the Burger Center... seems like the construction going on there has been at it for a long time now; don't know what the problem is.

If we want a really kick arse sports bar, how about lobbying for the old Academy on Brodie? Yeah, the parking sucks aggy but it's massive.

Might make a good location for GodzillaTron Jr., the indoor version! Speaking of which, has anyone ever watched an away game @ the Alamo Drafthouse? Report, please.

The old Academy on Brodie was rumored to become a Spec's. Not sure what the construction date was supposed to be on that..

I got an email back last night. He said they plan on opening the new Pluckers (at Blackeyed Pea) in February.

That is great news. Unfortunately, they may want to open in February, but knowing the city's permitting process, it's probably more like next summer.
