Plonsky all but begged

Kirk Bohls: She quit. Simple as that. Plonsky all but begged her to stay, which doesn't speak well to Chris, given the underachieving that Gail did.

I’m fine with disagreeing about Coach G. Everyone is welcome to their opinion.

But Kirk Bohls knows less about UT WBB than a rock. In fact I’ve been in Austin for about 30 years now and I have yet to find his area of expertise.

I don’t agree with most of the Coach G detractor posts on this board. But I’m more likely to listen to those, and take them seriously, than his blather. I get concerned when he says something that I believe is true, because I know it means there is a good chance I’ll end up being wrong. He has about as much credibility with me as Charles Barkley plugging Weight Watchers.

Good outlook, dude!

KB post says less about GG than the inability of Plonsky to find us a good coach. Her asking GG to stay ( indeed she assured us a couple of weeks ago that GG would be back next year) does not bode well.

that's why Plonsky "all but begged"... she stuck her neck out for Goestenkors, her prized haul. Let's see if she puts her (rather OUR) money where her mouth is on her next hire for her "forward looking program."

outlook, maybe Ced is more to your taste...

Cedric Golden: 'Hard to tell. Plonsky said she actually tried to talk her into staying. Doesn't sound like a firing to me. Gail didn't look disappointed. Plonsky was pretty devastated, believe it or not.'

Donna Lopiano would not have been devastated.

Losing bad to Tech in the Big 12 tournament and then to WV in the NCAA tournament showed her the team was not progressing and in fact with WV coming in effectively going backwards.

This is nothing but just one of those instances where everyone had good intentions, but it just didn't work out. It will take 3 to 5 years now just to be competitive in the Big 12, much less a threat on the national level.

KB is entitled to his opinion. Whether you agree or not with him is your right. I'd rather see a columnist call it out straight up then a sunshine pumper with dark burnt orange sunglasses. I don't agree with KB 100% but he does give insights that most of us don't get first hand. Interesting how his comments FORESHADOWED the resignation of Goestenkors.

Like I said I don't agree with him 100%. Obviously he's still writing for AAS so he must be doing something right.

Bohls was correct in his assessment of the situation. There was no way GG could have continued and everyone (GG included) except a few kool-aid drinkers on this board and Plonsky knew it.

you sound so dark now bbv, like the grim reaper.

I don't appreciate the FACT that you and your kind were shoving down Goestenkors down our throats. If she was the best, the results would show otherwise.
