I wish we had more consistent outside shooting, but win, or lose this team is fun to watch. FTs much better tonight. Pitt is a very good experienced team.
Free throw shooting was 18/26 .692. I'll take that.
All considered, I think the Horns looked good in the two games. Certainly better than I hoped for. I think they will get stronger as the season goes on. Of course, I think that I said that last year.
They played way aboive my expectations in both games. I'm happy about the season so far.
That last shot was really ugly...but sometimes you get that with freshmen. He tried to make a play and it looked like he panicked because he wasn't sure how much time was left on the clock.
Pitt played good defense on that last possession. I don't know if Joseph was planning on passing the ball inside, or taking it all the way himself, but Pitt did a good job blocking out on the play. Thompson was right there under basket, but the defender had excellent position in keeping him from the ball. Joseph should have pulled up for a jumper, but it's a good learning experience.
