please help - moving to St Louis

So I am moving to St Louis next month and I am worried that I wont be able to see all the Texas games. I'm pretty sure it will still be considered a Big 12 market so I should see the regional ABC games. What about the others? Is there a package or trick to get all the games. Anyone in a St. louis Texas exes group. I'm gonna be living in the central west end, is there a bar nearby where Texas fans go?

Thanks

I live in Knoxville, TN. You should be able to see any game that is televised in TX. I could be wrong, but I think the only games I've missed over the past few years have been the ones that aren't televised at all.

The only thing you'll run into is the regional telecasts that will force you to either purchase the game on PPV or go to a bar.

The biggest problem that I've had over the years has been the confusion in what is to be broadcast. This applies to Cowboy's games as well. You'll see TX or Dallas on the menu, then when the game starts, it's something else. You'll then get to experience the joy of calling the customer service of your cable service and speaking to someone without any sort of clue. In the meantime, you'll be missing the first quarter or first half of the game. This has happened more than once.

With the ESPN Game Plan, the FSN sports package on DirecTV, combined with what might be televised in the St. Louis market, it is unlikely you will miss any games. When I lived in Sacramento for a few years, I missed like 3 games in 3 years. It was the Baylor/ISU/NMSU caliber teams, though.

I live smack dab in the middle of big 10 country in Minnesota and trust me, you can get any Texas game you want- it is just going to cost you a little more. Get a dish, pay for ESPN game plan and you'll have about 70-80% of the games covered. You might have to fill in the rest of the really ****** games (Baylor, I'm looking at you) by paying $30 for pay per view event. That's when you know you have a problem, when you pay to watch a game involving Baylor.

Wasn't there a game against Baylor a few years back that wasn't televised in any market. And, someone from one of the boards hacked the jumbotron broadcast or something allowing a few Horns with true satellite to see the game.

Knox- I don't remember that, but I do admire the committment. 5 or 6 years ago there might have been a game or two that was unavailable but it's been a while.

I remember the last game I missed was Sam Houston- they had it on pay per view but on principle I could just not bring myself to pay for it and reward Deloss for scheduling that game.

I just moved from St. Louis. It's a great town.

The games are always on...you are still in Big XII country. There are a few sports bars around town. The Hot Shots chain is decent, but the St. Louis Texas Exes are always atThe Link

During Football season the bar will be packed with Mizzou fans and during Basketball the Jayhawks are the rowdiest.

I would get in touch with the Founder of the St. Louis Texas Exes (shoot me a PM for his e-mail or get it from the Exes site), he'll put you on the listserv for all their events.

Lemme know if you need any other info.

TBD

P.S.- Oh, the STL sportszone place is kind to the Texas Exes....they're one of the few bars that serve Shiner and Lone Star.
