Playing music with WMP or Winamp - Weird sound

It sounds like the singer is standing in an echo chamber or too far from the mic. I'd say it was the equalizer settings but when I play something off of, say Amazon, it sounds better.

You have probably tried this, but...

Press Eq on Winamp

The equilizer comes up, then press Preset, Load, and Preset...

A bunch of preset options come up. Sounds like you are set for some strange preset

Woland, that solved the Winamp side.

For WMP, click View -> Enhancements -> SRS WOW Effects. Then click "Turn off". If that doesn't work, hit the little "<" button until you see WMP's equalizer and click "Reset".
