Plaxico is the new Joe Namath

Nice. I can't believe people were bagging on him for guaranteeing a victory. He backed it up

Plax had more to do with the Giants' victory than Namath did with the Jets. People forget that that game was won by the Jets defense, not its offense, which only scored one touchdown.

The victory was made somewhat easier by the fact that the Colts QB, John Unitas, had a torn ligament in his throwing arm and did not play most of the game.

And by the way, Namath got the idea about making the prediction from Don Meredith, who guaranteed Cowboys fans a victory against the Eagles the year before, which took the Boys to their second loss in a row to the Packers.

Namath remains the most overrated qb in pro history. He had one really good season and got tremendous press because he was colorful (hung out with whores and gamblers--and cried in public when the NFL told him to knock it off) and was in the media capital of the world.

God it must suck being a Patriots fan. Not only did Plax make the prediction, but he was the very one who made it come true, thanks to his catch. Kinda like being stuck with the knife, then getting shot in the head to boot.

And he did it on 2 bum legs. Make that knife, bullet, and blunt object.

Yeah, I must admit I thought Plaxico was a little out there with his prediction. However, Brady's indignation will now be the focus. Looks like it's finally his turn in the barrell.

Did Plaxico really make a "guarantee", or did someone just ask him what he thought would happen and he said "Well I'll make my predition: 23-17 we win" and then it got twisted into a guarantee much like JB's "Maybe we'll beat them by 21 points" did?
