Plasma TV question

On a whim last week my parents went out and bought a flat screen plasma TV. They know nothing about HD or plasma, and chose plasma. I have HD tvs and also know nothing about plasma.

Is there anything they need to know about them? I ask because I've heard that the image can get burned into the screen. Is that true?

i could bullet out a few things, but just google 'plasma image retention' it will provide a comprehensive review for you.

First, what brand plasma and what source they watch most, i.e. HDTV or SDTV or DVD?
Burn-in or image retention is pretty much a non-factor these days but there are several things that I do:
1. Change out of the box settings from vivid to standard or cinema mode:
2. Adjust the bar setting in the cable box from black to grey;
3. Make sure that the television is not on the same station for too long because of the station logos (first 100 hours);
4. Make sure the picture is in full screen with no black bars on the side or top.
