Just watching and analyzing and, you know, being super critical without really knowing that much about football coaching, but I am pretty sure you can make a case that his brainfarts are responsible for at least 3 OU TDs. Umm, that is not good and may be grounds for a demotion.

I stated in the prediction thread that his play has just gotten worse and worse since his freshman year. He's not quick enough to be a corner and not physical enough to play safety, and I think this staff has him trying to do both of those roles at the same time. That "pick route" against Hollywood, as Lowell said during Longhorn Rewind, was a MISSED pick route that PJ just wasn't reading well enough to follow. Thank goodness for Brandon Jones and BJ Foster picking up some slack last game, otherwise we lose.

The problem is that I don't think we have anyone who can play that nickel-hybrid position, or at least not without some cross-training. Boyce got killed in his limited playing time early. Thompson and Estell would be likely candidates but are probably miles behind Locke in experience. My other thought was Chris Brown.

Seems like he played pretty good against the run, but in pass coverage...:puke: As Horns11 states, at this point, I think he's our best option. I thought Thompson was the heir apparent, but both he and Boyce have been roasted in coverage. I think Chris Brown got some reps against KSU but at safety, not nickel. Not sure I've seen Estell play at all. When he signed, I thought for sure nickel was the projected position for D'Shawn Jamison.

I agree with the initial assessment. It’s a dilemma although PJ has made some good tackles.

With an open week after Baylor perhaps Todd O can come up with another option, or a schematic fix.

I like this kid and I didnt like doing it but i was cussing PJ out loud at the game Sat. This must get fixed...

John Bonney??
Oh...wait...

Yeah, honestly we could have REALLY used Bonney this year. Especially with how well he was coming along in the latter half of the 2017 season. I think he was upset that Locke was penciled in for the hybrid position and figured he wouldn't get as much playing time since he's not a "true" corner. Locke probably would have been benched for Bonney by now.

Some people seem to think Overshown should be the 5th DB... dude hasn't had meaningful playing time and he's probably going to end up at LB anyhow.

I've always thought PJ is pretty good against the run, but should be subbed out on obvious passing downs. He's just too slow against the pass.

Overshown will be a LB, and I bet a damn good one, but now way is he a nickleback. I heard he doesn't even like alternative music.

I do my fair share of player bashing on this site (or am critical, however it needs to be said)....after the OU game I was able to see a positive contribution by Breckyn Hager on the field.....however, I could be wrong on how a player on the field also contributes with his leadership and disposition.....PJ has been hailed for leadership skills off the field which probably gets him on the field....
