Yeah, well, I said at the beginning of last year that Mizzou was very good, and they were. They aren't quite so good this year, but I wasn't expecting a win tonight. I thought one could be had, but turnovers, missed free throws, and a complete inability to use the one weapon we had that Missouri shouldn't have been able to stop easily wound up killing us.
Edit: At this point, I have to wonder if there is something physically wrong with Pittman. Not only is he not getting touches (he has attempted 5 or less shots in all but 2 of the last 12 games, while he attempted 6 or more in 11 of the first 14 games), he's shooting under 50% in conference. That's astounding when you consider he came into conference play looking like he was ready to break Steve Johnson's 25+ year old mark for fg%. A lot of games you can see he hasn't been elevating at all.
Yes, the packed defenses have played their part, but I wonder if there is something else going on.
Im very irritated with Dex. He does not play very good defense and when he gets the ball on the low block he either travels or doesnt realize there are 3 open people on the perimeter when he is double teamed.
I feel like Dex is on his own planet right now and the rest of us are just watching it happen. He needs to get back to where he belongs or he might as well be the next Dogus or Mason out there. He is a non-factor on offense.
For the first time last night I actually wanted Mason off the floor. And I always have stuck up for his PT and his contribution to this team no matter what his offensive production is.
I can handle 2 defenders and 3 scorers. I cant handle 2 defenders, 2 scorers, and one guy who is completely lost 24/7.
Huh?? I know plenty of slow fat dudes. That's not rare.
And I don't want to hear any Oliver Miller comparisons. Oliver Miller could rebound and put the ball in the basket. Anyone thinking that Dex has what it takes to make it to the NBA is smoking the same pipe that the "Brandon Mouton in the 1st Round" guys were smoking 5-6 years ago.
