Picking Fruit

Especially peaches. Tell me what you know, please.

I am currently locked in combat with (1) squirrels and birds, and (2) my wife, who would rather waste 90% of the fruit and vegetable crop than pick something is not perfectly ripened on the tree or vine.

you will never beat the birds and squirrels if you don't pick them and then let the fruit ripen in your house. I don't think there is any real benefit to letting the fruit vipen while still haning on the tree.
